Malpass Delegation Learns About 3 New Updates in BISP Ehsaas Policy

The Malpass delegation was informed of the new updates in the BISP Ehsaas policy. They learned about the One-Stop-Shop concept, increasing the amount from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 14,000, and the disqualification message. It was a good start for the delegation to understand the new policies and procedures.

Ehsaas Kafalat for Special Persons

The BISP will allow cash disbursement to Ehsaas beneficiaries only at specially designated campsites. In addition, the BISP will exempt HBL, BAFL, NADRA staff, and the Bank’s BVS retailers.

The BISP will set specially designated campsites in government buildings, which may include a shelter, to facilitate cash distribution to beneficiaries. The Deputy Commissioner of BISP will share the locations of these places with field teams.

The government may also separate the disbursement of money and vouchers at specialized centers. The new program will start on February 20, 2020, covering around seven million people across 70 districts. Ehsaas Kafalat will be administered through the Safe Payments System.

To access the new benefits, you must have your particular personal card. To apply, visit the NADRA website or call a local Ehsas Registration Desk. The Ehsas Registration Desk will be open soon, and eligible customers can receive their money after renewing their CNIC.

One-Stop-Shop concept

The Ehsaas Programme is implementing a One-Stop-Shop concept. This concept aims at integrating all the necessary resources for effective implementation. Each district will establish these centers and provide comprehensive information on the Ehsaas Programme.

These centers are currently being developed. In addition, back Office Integration will facilitate the access to resources and information needed for effective implementation. Finally, the government is introducing two new programs to benefit small business owners.

The new Mazdoor Ka Ehsaas Program 2022 will increase liquidity by 40% of the sales of a small business. The new program will also provide small business grants for SMEs. The funds are provided to those with a minimum annual sales of two million rupees.

In addition to extending the benefits to the poor, the program has made it easier to access the various social programs offered by the government. In addition to this, the new initiative is free of political interference.

People will have the option to apply for the funds based on merit rather than political affiliation. In addition, as a part of this new program, the government is providing smartphones to deserving women so they can use these devices for financial transactions and other needs.

Increase in amount from Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000

The federal government released the names of beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BIPS) who were disqualified from participating in the NSER survey by 2022. This move will help these women regain their lost money through inflation, as they will receive a cash benefit of Rs 14,000 again.

In addition, those disqualified women will be informed to register for the Ehsaas Kafalat Payment. The Ehsaas Kafalat Program is a part of the Benazir Income Support Programme. This program has been established in the south of the country. Its centers operate from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 17:00—bank employees run the centers.

Disqualification message

The federal government has disqualified about 8 million Benazir Income Support Program beneficiaries. The disqualified beneficiaries have received cash assistance in the past. Earlier, women were deprived of this cash assistance when they failed to qualify for the survey.

However, the government has now decided to reverse this decision. As a result, disqualified women will again receive cash assistance for 14,000 rupees, which will help them meet the rising costs of living. Moreover, women will also be able to receive Ehsaas kafala cash from the Ehsaas Registration Centers.

If the disqualification message for Ehsaaz Program has already been received, eligible women can file a complaint through the portal. In such a situation, the management of the program will make alternative payment arrangements. Eligible women can also visit Ehsaas Registration Desks at the district and tehsil levels. Applicants can also present their National Identity Cards at these centers.
