Unconditional cash transfers
The Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) program was introduced in Pakistan in 2011 and has now become a permanent feature of the government’s poverty-reduction strategy. It aims to provide food for three months to the poorest 20 percent of Pakistan’s population and will help families improve their educational performance and nutrition levels. It also supports efforts to improve the implementation of social protection programs and strengthen internal controls.
Single national curriculum
The new curriculum aims to increase participation in the project by developing transversal competencies for students. The concept of knowledge is viewed holistically; it comprises knowledge, skills, values, attitudes, and will. Knowledge is crucial to personal development, but the new curriculum takes these concepts a step further. It includes the concept of global thinking and includes the needs of diverse demographic groups. This is a significant step towards addressing the growing global problem of poverty.
